Depending on your role at work, you may be able to see the increase in networking events scattered across the city.
If you really wanted to you could dine morning, noon and night at the expense of work. For those of you who aren’t familiar with the term ‘networking’ or don’t really know what it entails, it’s basically a gathering of strangers who are looking to expand their network within Birmingham, mainly to increase business leads but also it’s a great way to meet new people and make friends if you are either new to the city, your job or both.
We thought it was a good idea to give you somewhere to start when it comes to memberships in the city and how to make the most of them.
There are two rather established memberships for young professionals in the city and they are both great for personal development and meeting new acquaintances.
- Future Faces. This is a new addition to the Chamber of Commerce memberships. With the members growing every day, it’s a great opportunity to join and meet new faces at each event and develop your skill set which is enabled by a whole host of events that they host.(Click here)
- BPS. Birmingham Professional Services is the more established of the two having been founded many years ago and having been growing over that time. There are three tiers to this membership, Aspire, Futures, Leaders. Birmingham Futures is for young professionals who are advanced in their career but want to gain a skillset, meet like-minded individuals and continuously develop. You can read more about the other memberships on their website. (Click here)
You can join both of these memberships as an individual and there are also packages that enable multiuse of the membership so it can be shared across the team.
